With over 15 years of experience, Blue Sky Brokers are pioneers in social care, offering dedicated support and expert advice to both paid and unpaid carers across the UK. We’re here to ensure that carers always have the guidance and resources they need, providing peace of mind and confidence at every step of their journey.
This page is designed to be a one-stop resource for carers – bringing together practical advice, useful contacts, and clear information to help you navigate your caring role with confidence.
“As a Carers Champion, I believe unpaid carers deserve true recognition for their tireless dedication as partners in care.
Carers need clear information about their rights, services, and how to navigate the health and social care system. Just as vital is emotional support, whether through groups, counselling or mental health resources, to prevent isolation and burnout.
Financial support matters too: access to benefits, help with costs, and respite opportunities so carers can rest and recharge. Flexible working and accessible training can make the balance between caring and working less overwhelming.
Being a carer is both rewarding and demanding. Our role is to ensure carers feel supported, informed and never alone on this journey.”
Suneeta Sahota, Carers Champion – Blue Sky Brokers
The Blue Sky Social Care Card Carers membership is a FREE initiative equipping carers with the support they deserve:
Our dedicated team and Carers Champion are active in the community, making sure carers feel supported and connected. We hold carers’ clinics for advice and guidance, visit community centres to reach people where they are, run pop-up events to share information, and host coffee mornings where carers can meet others and take a well-deserved break. These activities help reduce isolation and give carers the confidence to access the support they deserve.
For Carers Rights Week, we set up an information stall at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital to raise awareness of the rights and support available to unpaid carers.
During the event, an NHS staff member stopped by. She explained she was caring for her husband, who was receiving palliative care, but hadn’t realised she was entitled to support as a carer. Balancing work and caring responsibilities had left her feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to turn.
We spoke privately about her rights, how to approach her manager, and what to do if she needed further support. She left with practical advice, printed information, and our contact details.
A few weeks later, she got in touch to say she’d spoken to her manager and secured adjustments that made life more manageable. She described feeling relieved and grateful for the guidance.
